Introduction to Defensive Shotgun
Time & Location
About the Event
Intro to Defensive Shotgun is for the new rifle owner or those interested in learning to shoot modern shotguns.
This course provides the student with the basic knowledge and skills necessary to safely handle, load, fire and unload common types of shotguns. Time is spent both in the classroom and on the range in a comfortable learning environment. Students are guided through rifle manipulation drills and range exercises designed to increase their comfort level and develop a solid skill base with the modern rifle.
Required: Approx 200 rounds bird shot, appropriate footwear, eye and ear protection.
Suggested: side saddle shotgun shell holder (mounts on receiver) and a way to carry additional shells on your person (pouch, pockets etc.)
NOTE:- If you have a brand new rifle, you are welcome to attend- HOWEVER, it needs to be cleaned of packing grease etc. Secondly, if you're rifle continually fails to function, you may be dropped from the course. The instructor can not continually interrupt the class to deal with an overly malfunctioning rifle. We see this often with lower cost rifles. Malfunctions, happen- we understand that. And you will learn how to mitigate them. But overly excessive malfunctions interrupt the class too much if the gunsmith cant fix them during the class.
