NRA PPOTH Instructor

This course will be conducted over 2 days. Class will run from Sat 06/12 from 8a-6p and Sun 06/13 from 8a-6p. Seating is VERY LIMITED. We encourage all interested parties to reserve your seat ASAP.

*** This is the NRA's PREMIER civilian handgun Instructor course. Basic marksmanship AND basic defensive shooting skills MUST be possessed prior to enrolling in this course. Instructor candidates for this course should be intimately familiar with the NRA Basic PPOTH course ***

Prerequisites: Instructor candidates must be both an NRA Certified Pistol, Personal Protection In The Home Instructor and have a current Basic Instructor Training (BIT) certification. Candidates must have attended an NRA Basics of Personal Protection Outside The Home course and passed the student exam with a score of 90% or better.

This course teaches the knowledge, skills and attitude essential to organizing, promoting and teaching the NRA Basics of Personal Protection Outside The Home Course.

Throughout the course students will demonstrate organizational and teaching skills via participation in practical exercises and complete an instructor certification examination.

Required items:

• A quality defensive firearm (minimum .380 for semi-autos or .38spl for revolvers)
• A quality strong side hip holster or holster purse
• A sturdy belt to affix your hip holster to
• 3 magazines or speed loaders
• Minimum of 100 rounds of ammunition
• Optical and hearing protection
• A baseball style cap
• A cover garment (preferably a full zip shirt, sweatshirt or jacket)
• A quality flashlight that can be operated using only one hand

*** By attending this Instructor level course you will be afforded the opportunity to successfully complete all required performance based objectives to satisfactorily prove to the Training Counselor that you possess the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary to be considered for recommendation to become certified as a NRA Certified Instructor in this discipline. ***

This is a performance based course.
